Ingredients:
- 3 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
Combine flour, baking soda and baking powder into a bowl. Cream sugar and eggs together until smooth. Add the egg and vanilla extract. Chill the cookie mixture in the refrigerator for two hours. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Roll out cookie dough to 1/4 inch thick and cut out into holiday shapes. Bake 8-10 minutes until golden and let cool. Decorate with colored sugar or cookie icing.
Chocolate Chip Cookies

- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 12-ounce bag chocolate chips
Directions
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt. In a separate bowl, mix butter, brown sugar, and sugar until smooth. Add in the eggs one at a time and the vanilla extract. Mix in chocolate chips until evenly distributed. Scoop into heaping tablespoons and place onto a greased cookie sheet. Cook for 12-14 minutes or until golden.
Snickerdoodles
Ingredients:
- 3 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 salt
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup butter
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons sugar
Directions
Combine flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt together in a bowl. Mix sugar, eggs, and butter in a bowl until well combined. Blend dry ingredients into the sugar mixture. Chill cookie dough in the refrigerator for half an hour. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix remaining three tablespoons sugar and three teaspoons cinnamon in a small bowl. Scoop one-inch balls of dough and roll into the sugar and cinnamon mixture. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 10 minutes.
